Welcome to our Yamaha Disklavier Repair Page!

You’re in the right place if you:

  • Would like to repair a Yamaha Disklavier
  • Have a Mark 4 or E3 and would like it upgraded to the new Enspire system
  • Are interested in adding Disklavier TV to your piano
  • Would like to buy a new or used Yamaha piano with a Disklavier

Repairing a Yamaha Disklavier can be a complex task due to the intricate blend of acoustic craftsmanship and advanced electronics. While newer models like the Mark IV and Enspire series can be elevated to the latest Enspire system via the DKC-900 upgrade, older Disklavier models present unique upgrade challenges.

The most common symptom, however, is lack of power. If your Disklavier has no power, your power supply has likely failed. This is a common occurrence on 30-year-old systems, so this is the first thing we repair. Once this is up and running, we can test the rest of the system.

However, if you have power, we can sometimes diagnose the problem over the phone and show up with the right replacement part.

One major hurdle in maintaining older Disklaviers is the outdated floppy and CD drives, which are also prone to failure after years of use. Repairing or replacing these components is essential to restoring basic playback and recording functionality, but these fixes won’t unlock modern features like streaming or wireless connectivity.

For legacy models, achieving modern functionality typically involves leveraging their MIDI ports. External systems like PianoDisc or QRS can add advanced features such as smartphone control, streaming, and high-definition playback. However, integrating these systems requires technical expertise to ensure compatibility and seamless operation.

Another challenge lies in sourcing parts for older Disklavier models, as many components are no longer in production. Patience is key here as these repairs can take anywhere from several months to as long as a year.
